CBS Wine is the wine society of Copenhagen Business School. We are a non-profit organization whose mission is to create truly great wine experiences for fellow students at the cost of a student-friendly fee. CBS Wine is for all students, both those who know wine on a more skilled level and those who don’t wine at all. Therefore we have no admission fee.
CBS Wine was founded in 2010 by a group of wine-enthusiastic students at CBS who thought that CBS needed a social, easygoing wine society where student could meet from all levels of study. Today, CBS Wine has arranged wine tasting for over 2500 fellow students and competed in a number of different wine tasting competitions throughout Europe since it was founded, and we will continue to do so.
Our events:
CBS Wine’s events are planned for students by students. The organizing members of CBS Wine spend some of their free time setting up tastings and events. The entire process is non-profit which ensures the highest possible level of wine quality and value for the lowest student-friendly price possible. This helps us share our love and passion for wine with fellow students here at Copenhagen Business School.
Cheers!
Every year, CBS Wine attends various wine tasting competitions both internationally as well as nationally. Throughout the last years our blind tasting efforts have resulted in a number of top three positions within different competitions that culminated in 2015 where CBS Wine won Sciences Po International Tasting at Bollinger in Champagne. Each year we send teams to Paris, Bordeaux, London, Lausanne, Lyon and the Danish national championship in blind tasting in hopes of more success.
These competitions are based on a mix of theoretical questions concerning wine knowledge and testing of blind tasting skills. In order to be prepared for the competitions, we do a series of training events and other theoretical based preparations throughout the year.
To compete in international wine tasting competitions can be costly and expensive for a student. Consequently, we are always interested in and in search of an official sponsor of the CBS Wine team that can contribute to making all this possible and to cover some of the expenses involved in competing. Former sponsors of CBS Wine include: Lauritz.com, Københavns Andelskasse, Club Supercar and Nemlig.com.
You can join CBS Wine in two different ways: If you are a student at CBS, just make sure you subscribe to our newsletter and follow us on Facebook.
If you wish to become even more active arranging tastings or participating in international wine tasting competitions, please contact us by email at contact@cbswine.dk or through Facebook or Instagram.
